What technologies are incorporated into the eViewer HTML5 edition?
The eViewer is a zero footprint application built on HTML5 & JavaScript which renders pure
HTML content. The eViewer can easily integrate with almost any Enterprise Content Management system (ECM) and requires no workstation installation or plug-ins. The user accesses the eViewer from their Internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome.
The eViewer leverages HTML5 web worker thread model for processing and graphics technology for a high end user experience. It quickly renders document and allows for fast navigation between
pages.
What Java JVM or JRE is required by the eViewer HTML5 edition?
The eViewer is a zero footprint application built on HTML5 JavaScript. Using this advanced technology, the eViewer does not require any plugin JRE or framework to run on the client system.
The eViewer only needs a modern Internet browser such as the latest edition Google Chrome,
Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer 10.
What Internet browsers is the eViewer HTML5 edition compatible with?
The eViewer is certified compatible with the following Internet browsers:
- Chrome: Version 11 and higher
- Firefox: Version 4 and higher
- IE: Version 10 and higher
Can the eViewer HTML5 edition be used on mobile devices?
Yes, the eViewer is compatible with most common mobile devices including iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile.
What Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system does the eViewer HTML5 edition integrates with?
The eViewer HTML5 currently integrates with IBM FileNet P8 4.5 and higher, IBM Content Manager 8.4 and higher, Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and higher, EMC Documentum WebTop 5 and higher, and all CMIS Compliant repositories.
Is the eViewer HTML5 edition CMIS compatible?
Yes, the eViewer is CMIS compliant and can be integrated with any CMIS compliant ECM to retrieve, render documents, view and create annotations and metadata, and other features.
Does the eViewer HTML5 edition have exposed APIs to connect third-party applications to interact with it?

Can the eViewer HTML5 edition integrate with IBM Content Navigator?
Yes, the eViewer contains plugins that can be registered with IBM Content Navigator to load, view, and save documents and annotations directly from IBM Content Navigator

What file formats does the eViewer HTML5 edition support?
The eViewers upports hundreds of documents and image file formats. The viewer supports document formats such as PDF, MS Office documents; image formats such as multipage TIFF, JPEG, IBM proprietary formats (MO:DCA, IOCA, PTOCA). View the complete listing of Formats here.
Does the eViewer HTML5 use Oracle’s Outside In Technology for file format support?
The eViewer does not use Outside In Technology. MST develops its own custom built format libraries for rendering in its solutions.

How are annotations saved with the eViewer HTML5 edition? Are they burned to the document?
The eViewer saves annotation in a separate binary or XML file.
The annotations are overlaid on top of the image when the document is rendered.
The eViewer does provide the ability to burn annotations permanently on the document or image while
saving or exporting it. The viewer also provides an option, located in the preferences, to burn
annotations when saving the document.
Does the eViewer HTML5 edition support IBM MO:DCA formats?
Yes, the eViewer supports the following IBM proprietary formats:
- MO:DCA (Mixed Object : Document Content Architecture)
- IOCA (Image Object Content Architecture)
- PTOCA (Presentation Text Object Content Architecture)
On what server operating systems can the eViewer HTML5 edition be deployed on?
The eViewer can easily be deployed on the following server operating systems:
- Windows Server 2003 (32-bit & 64-bit)
- Windows Server 2008 (32-bit & 64-bit)
- Windows Server 2012
- RHL(RHEL, SUSE, and others)
The eViewer requires a Java supporting application server such as Apache Web Server,
Apache Tomcat, Red Hat JBoss, Oracle Glassfish, IBM WebSphere, or any other number
of application servers for deployment.
Can the eViewer HTML5 edition be customized to fit our organization’s exact needs?
Yes, at MST we have provided customized eViewers to meet the various requirements of our
customers such as adding or customizing set of exposed APIs, adding or modifying preferences to
control functions of the viewer, corporate branding, providing custom connectors,
and other features.
